Battle Royale review

At the rise of a New Millennium in an alternative japan, the whole country is in crisis, the economy is weak, delinquency among young people has greatly increased and the school system is boycotted by students.
All of this forces the government to approve the battle royale program.
The concept of the BR program is putting junior high-schools to fight each other to the death till only one left.
Now this movie has really violent content, and disturbing imagery , but honestly that's essential to the shock value, i probably wouldn't like this movie as much if it was pg-13.
Sometimes during the movie there are going to be some scenes with a "campy charm", some scenes are so insane that i found myself laughing. (I think i like twisted stuff a little to much).
Never the less, it's a really great movie, and even though the acting it's not the best part of the movie, it has character development and good characters (specially Kiriyama and Mitsuko).
If you can handle strong violence, you should watch it, it's even Quentin Tarantino's favorite movie.
A solid 8/10
